Ms Design Glass

We are over at Vishwakarma Estate in Karelibaug. It’s right next to Ambica Chamber. If you come into the estate you will find us easily enough. We do design work on glass here. This means we spend a lot of time with stencils and etching tools. It’s more creative than just cutting windows for houses. The workshop is usually covered in fine white powder from the etching process. We have some finished pieces sitting around on the racks. Some have patterns and some are just frosted glass. Karelibaug is a nice part of town to work in. Our neighbors in the estate are mostly other small workshops. We hear them hammering or grinding all day long. We have a small desk where we draw out the designs on paper first. Sometimes a customer brings an idea or a drawing and we try to put it on a piece of glass for them. It’s fiddly work and you need a steady hand. My eyes get tired by the end of the day from looking at the small details. We drink a lot of tea to stay sharp. The estate gets a bit dark in the evenings but we have good lights inside the shop. We aren't a big corporation. Just a few of us who like working with our hands. It’s a good way to make a living. We’ve been here at Vishwakarma for some years now.
