Durga Glass & Aluminium

Our shop, Durga Glass & Aluminium, is at Shop No. 7/2A in the Parmeshwar Complex. We are right on the Sussen-Tarsali Ring Road, directly across from the PNB Bank. You can see the stacks of aluminum frames and large glass sheets leaning against our walls from the street. It’s a tight squeeze inside because of all the materials we have to keep in stock. We spend a lot of time carefully cutting glass and fitting it into various metal frames. It takes a lot of patience and a very steady hand. We are a small operation and most days it is just the sound of the glass cutter and the occasional truck passing by on the ring road. We have to be very careful not to break anything, as glass is expensive and quite fragile. I sweep the floor many times a day because of the tiny shards that fall. We don’t have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that keeps the air moving. People from the neighborhood stop by for small repairs or to ask about bigger jobs for their houses. We write all the orders down in a simple paper notebook. Sometimes we are away at a customer's site installing a window, so the shop might be closed for an hour or two. It’s a very basic setup. We focus on getting the measurements exactly right because if the glass doesn't fit, it’s a big waste of time. We just do our work and keep things moving.
