Raopura Road is one of those places in Vadodara that never seems to sleep. Our office is right opposite the Khadibhandar, which is a landmark most people know, so it makes giving directions pretty easy. We’ve been operating this Ultratech Cement outlet here for some time now, and it’s a standard routine day in and day out. The traffic outside can be a real headache when we are trying to get a load out, but the drivers are experienced and usually manage. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of the ceiling fans and the occasional phone ringing. We don’t go in for anything flashy. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are too busy managing the inventory to worry about that right now. We see a lot of different people, from big developers to a guy just needing five bags for a repair at home. We treat everyone the same and just try to be helpful. The paperwork can be a bit of a drag, especially at the end of the month when everything needs to be reconciled, but we get it done. It’s a decent place to work, and being in the middle of Vadodara means there is always something happening nearby. We just keep our heads down and make sure the cement is ready when someone needs it. It’s not a complicated setup, but it works for us and our customers.
