Turnweld Engineers

Over at 245, G.I.D.C. Industrial Estate in Makarpura, that’s where Turnweld Engineers is based. It’s an old-school kind of shop where we do a lot of turning and welding. The machines have been with us for a long time and they have their own little quirks that only we understand. Makarpura is always humming with the sound of industry, and our unit is part of that rhythm. We spend our mornings checking the machines and getting the metal ready. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, so our clothes usually have a bit of oil or iron filings on them by noon. We have a small corner for tea where we take a few minutes to breathe. The walls are covered with old calendars and some notes scribbled right onto the bricks. It’s a very hands-on environment. When you come into our unit, you’ll see sparks flying in one corner and a lathe turning in the other. We don't go in for big meetings or long speeches. We just look at the drawings and start working. Sometimes a project takes longer than we thought because the material is stubborn. That’s just part of the deal. We’ve grown used to the heavy air and the constant clanging of metal. People know where to find us when they need something fabricated or fixed. We just stay focused on the task at hand and try to get home before it gets too dark.
