Top Bricks

If you drive out towards Asoj, you will find us at Shop No 3 in the Unaddeep Complex. We are right opposite the L & T area, so there are always trucks and big vehicles passing by. Top Bricks is what we call it, but it is really just a place where we manage the supplies for local building work. It is dusty work, and my boots are always covered in red dirt by lunch. We spend a lot of time on the phone making sure the loads arrive on time. Sometimes they do not, and then we have to explain that to the customers who are waiting at their construction sites. That is the most stressful part of the job, really. The shop itself is small, just enough space for a desk and a few chairs for visitors. We keep some samples outside so people can see what they are getting. It is not like those big air-conditioned offices in the city. Here, we just have a ceiling fan and the door stays open to catch whatever breeze there is. Most people find us because they saw the sign while heading to the factory. It is a straightforward business. We do not have any big secrets. We just sell bricks and try to keep things moving. The sun gets really hot in the afternoon, so we usually slow down a bit then. It is a simple life out here, away from the main city buzz. We just keep at it.
