Shreeji Fly Ash Brick

If you look for us at Plot No. 58 in Navdurga Industrial Park, you’ll find our brickyard right there in Village Sakarda. It’s a busy spot with pallets of fly ash bricks stacked high. Making these bricks is a daily routine that starts early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. We have a few guys who handle the mixing and the pressing machines. It’s not a quiet place by any means. The sound of the hydraulic presses is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We moved to this plot because it gave us enough space to dry the bricks properly out in the open air. Sometimes the dust from the fly ash gets everywhere, so we are always cleaning off the equipment. People from the nearby villages come by to check on their orders for their house projects. We don't do much advertising, mostly just word of mouth from people who saw our bricks being used somewhere else. The office is just a small corner partitioned off where we keep the delivery slips and some spare parts for the machines. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. When the monsoon hits, we have to scramble to cover everything up with plastic sheets, which is always a bit of a mess, but we manage to get through it every year.
