The Shoppe

The Shoppe is a small place located over at Race Course on 19th Road. We have been in this spot for several years and it has become a bit of a second home to us. The building is older and has its quirks, like the way the front door squeaks every time someone walks in. 19th Road is usually quite lively, so there is always something to watch out the window when things are slow inside. We don’t have a massive selection, just the things we know the locals around Race Course need. The shelves are made of wood and they’ve seen better days, but they hold everything just fine. We spend a good part of the morning sweeping the floor and making sure everything looks somewhat organized before the first person arrives. It’s a very simple operation. We don’t have a big computer system or fancy lights. Most of the time, we are just sitting on our stools talking to the neighbors or checking our stock levels. The air in the shop usually smells a bit like the paper we use for wrapping. It’s a comfortable, worn-in kind of place. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Vadodara, we just like having our little spot on 19th Road. If you’re ever walking around the Race Course area, you’ll probably see us there, just doing our daily work as usual. We keep the hours regular and just handle whatever the day brings to the door.
