Solid Refrigeration & Engineering Co is located near the Loksatta Press on Ajwa Road. It’s a pretty well-known landmark, so people don't usually have a hard time finding our workshop. We do engineering work that focuses on refrigeration, so there are always pipes, compressors, and metal pieces lying around the floor. It is a practical working space, not a corporate office. We have our workbenches set up and our tools hanging on the walls where we can reach them easily. The sound of the press nearby is something we have just grown used to over time. Ajwa Road is a busy place, and we get a lot of dust coming in from the street, so we have to wipe down the machines pretty often. We are just a small group of people who know how to build and fix cooling systems. We don't spend money on fancy signs or big ads. We just open the shop in the morning and start on whatever engineering project is next on the list. Sometimes we have to go out to other sites, but most of the heavy work happens right here near the press. We have a small table in the corner where we keep our logbooks and a kettle for making tea. It is a straightforward, honest way to spend the day. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a good while and plan to stay right here on Ajwa Road.
