Smeet Engineers

Our workshop, Smeet Engineers, is at A-2 in the Jamsons Industrial Estate. You can find us on Dharamsinh Desai Road, which is off Chhani Road in the Firbale area. It is a typical industrial setting with a lot of metal and heavy machinery around. We’ve been working out of this unit for a good number of years. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is always the sound of something being cut or welded. We aren't a huge corporation. We are just a group of people who enjoy working with our hands and making things. The office part of the building is small and mostly filled with drawings and old parts. We don't spend much time in there anyway. Most of the work happens out on the floor. It can get quite hot in the summer because the building is all metal, but we are used to it by now. We take on various engineering jobs that come our way from other local businesses in Firbale. Sometimes the projects are simple and sometimes they take a lot of figuring out. We don't have any fancy signs or a big marketing budget. People find us because they know we are here in the industrial estate. We just focus on the metalwork and getting things put together correctly. It is a noisy, busy place but we like the work we do here every day. It feels good to finish a job.
