Shreenath Ice Cream Parlour

Subhanpura is where we are, specifically near Ahire Gate 3. It’s a decent spot for an ice cream parlour because there are plenty of families living around here. Shreenath Ice Cream Parlour isn’t a massive place, just a few big freezers and some plastic chairs outside for when the weather is nice. In the summer months, it gets incredibly busy after the sun goes down. Everyone wants something cold to eat. I spend most of my shifts scooping ice cream until my wrist gets tired. We have all the basic flavors that kids like, and some others for the grown-ups too. The lights inside are a bit bright, but it makes the place easy to see from the main road. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in with just a few coins and we try to find a small scoop for them. It gets a bit sticky on the tables, so I’m always wiping them down with a damp cloth every few minutes. Ahire Gate is a landmark that everyone in this part of town knows, so people don’t usually have trouble finding where we are. It’s not a corporate chain, just a local shop. Sometimes we lose power and have to move everything to the back freezer that holds the cold a bit better. It’s just one of those things you have to deal with when you run a shop. We don’t have a big mission statement. We just sell ice cream and try to keep the freezers running every day.
