Finding Sheetal Fashion can be a bit of a trick if you do not know Bhave Kale's lane. It is one of those narrow spots in Raopura where everyone knows each other. We have been operating out of this lane for a long time. The mornings start with opening the shutters and sweeping the front. It is usually quiet for the first hour, then the people start pouring into Raopura. Our shop is filled with different items, mostly things people need for their daily wear. We do not have a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just us, the counters, and the shelves packed with clothes. Sometimes the lane gets so crowded that even a cycle cannot pass through, and you have to wait for people to move. We spend our time talking to locals and helping them find what they want. It is a simple life. We do not have a lot of space, so every corner is used for storage. The walls are covered in stacks of material. We have seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the lane stays pretty much the same. It has got that old-fashioned feel that you do not find in the newer malls. We drink a lot of tea and wait for the evening rush. That is when things really get moving. By the time we close up, we are tired, but it is a good kind of tired. It is just how we do things here.
