Saree Collection

Our shop is right in the middle of M G Market at Nagar Sheth's Vando in Vadodara. If you know the area, you know it’s one of those traditional spots where everyone knows everyone else. Saree Collection has been here for a long time. The building is old, and you can feel the history in the walls. It’s not like those new malls you see popping up everywhere. Here, the lanes are narrow and it can get quite hot in the summer. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that work hard all day. We spend most of our time surrounded by piles of sarees. We have to be careful with how we stack them so everything stays neat. It’s a lot of work, especially when the market gets crowded during festival seasons. We see many families who have been coming to this market for generations. It’s nice to be part of that tradition in Vadodara. We don’t use any complicated systems to run the shop. We just keep our books by hand and talk to our customers face-to-face. There’s something honest about doing things the old-fashioned way. We open the doors early in the morning and we don't leave until the last customer is gone. It’s a long day, but we’ve grown to love the rhythm of the market. It’s our home away from home, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
