If you come down to G.I.D.C. in Makarpura, you’ll find our workshop at Plot No. 492/3. We build machinery for the pharma industry here. It’s a noisy place with a lot of metalwork and welding going on most days. We started out small in Vadodara and just kept at it, making parts and assembling units for different factories. The shop floor is usually covered in tools and blueprints because we’re always in the middle of a project. It’s not the cleanest environment, but that’s just how a machine shop works. We have a few technicians who know these machines inside out. We don't really do big advertising; most people find us through word of mouth in the industrial estate. It gets quite hot in the summers under the tin roof, but we keep the fans going and get the orders out. We make sure the machines are sturdy and do what they are supposed to do. There’s no big corporate office here, just a small cabin where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes we’re working late to finish a specific build for a client. We’ve been in Makarpura for years and know most of the neighbors. It’s a practical business, and we take it one day at a time, making sure the gears and motors are fitted right before anything leaves our gate. We like the hands-on nature of the work we do every single day.
