Baroda Instrumentation Company

Baroda Instrumentation Company is situated at Plot No. 201 Kalapi Chember, right across from Novind in the Gidc Ind. Estate. Our space is a bit different from the heavy workshops around us because we deal with smaller, more precise instruments. The office has a lot of shelves filled with boxes and testing equipment. Being in Kalapi Chember means we are a bit removed from the mud and heavy dust of the ground floor plots, but you can still hear the trucks rumbling by outside all day long. We spend most of our time at the benches, looking through magnifiers or adjusting small dials. It takes a steady hand to work here. The view out the window is mostly just the industrial buildings of the Gidc and the workers coming and going from Novind. We keep a pot of tea going most of the day and talk about the news or what’s happening in the estate. It’s not a big corporate office with fancy rugs; it’s just a practical place to work. Sometimes the lights flicker when the heavy machinery in the next building starts up, but we just keep going. We don’t have a lot of people visiting, mostly just delivery drivers or people picking up their equipment once it’s been looked at. It is a quiet, busy life we have here in our corner of the chamber.
