Rekha Saree Centre

Rekha Saree Centre is located in Japan Market, right at B-43. This market is a big deal here on the Ring Road in Vadodara. It is always packed with people looking for fabrics and sarees. Our shop is just one small part of that huge rush. We spend our days surrounded by piles of cloth. The Ring Road is always noisy, and the dust from the street somehow finds its way inside no matter how much we sweep. We have been in B-43 for a good while. It is a compact space, so we have to be smart about where we put everything. We have stools for people to sit on while they look at the sarees. Most of the time, we are just unfolding things and then folding them back up again. It is a repetitive job, but it’s what we do. We don’t have any big marketing plans or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. There are a lot of other shops nearby, so we are always chatting with the neighbors. It is a tight-knit community in Japan Market. We just try to get through the daily tasks and make sure the shelves are stocked up for the next day. It’s a lot of folding and stacking but it keeps us busy.
