Ravi Engineering

Ravi Engineering is located at 304/1 in the G I D C area of Makarpura. If you know GIDC, you know it’s just row after row of industrial sheds and workshops. Our place is one of the smaller ones, but we make it work. It’s always noisy here with the sound of grinding and metal hitting metal from the neighboring shops. The air always smells a bit like burnt oil and coolant, but you stop noticing it after an hour. We don’t have any fancy meeting rooms. If a customer comes by, we usually just talk out on the shop floor or sit on a couple of plastic chairs near the entrance. Makarpura is a busy hub, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. My father started this place, and I’ve been running it for the last ten years. We have some old lathes and a couple of newer machines that we bought second-hand. They get the job done. Sometimes the roads in GIDC get really bad after a heavy rain, and it’s a struggle to get the finished goods out, but we manage somehow. We don’t spend money on websites or shiny signs. Most of our work comes from people we’ve known for decades. It’s a basic operation, but it keeps the lights on and the families fed. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever is in front of us.
