Chetak Engineering Enterprise

Down at Plot No. 866-6-1 in the GIDC Ind. Estate, we run Chetak Engineering Enterprise. It is a small setup, mostly focused on the mechanical side of things. We have a few lathes and a milling machine that have seen better days but still run true. The air in the workshop is always a mix of metal shavings and old grease. We don't have a lot of room to move around once we get a big project on the floor. Most of our time is spent tinkering with parts and trying to get things to fit together just right. It is a slow process sometimes. We don't use a lot of high-tech gadgets; we rely more on what we’ve learned over the years by doing the work. The walls are lined with shelves full of old bolts and spare bits that might come in handy someday. You never know when you’ll need a specific piece of scrap metal. We don't really have a break room, so we just sit on some crates when we need to rest our legs. Being in the GIDC means we are surrounded by other people doing the same kind of work. It’s a community of workshops and small factories. We keep to ourselves mostly and focus on whatever is on the bench that day. It’s just a simple engineering shop where we put in the hours and go home. We like the work we do here.
