Raju Faludawala

Raju Faludawala is on Harni Road in Kamgar Nagar. It is a small shop, mostly just a counter and some space for the customers to stand while they eat. We focus on making faluda, which takes a lot of prep work in the back. I spend hours boiling the milk and getting the noodles ready. The smell of rose syrup is always in the air here. Harni Road gets very crowded in the evenings, and people often crowd around the front of the shop. It can get a bit chaotic when everyone wants their order at the same time. The fridge is old and hums loudly, but it keeps everything cold. I have a few stools outside on the pavement, but most people just stand and eat. There is a lot of trash that accumulates near the bin, so I have to empty it several times a night. We don't have any fancy posters or a website. Most people know us because they live nearby or they saw the sign while driving to Kamgar Nagar. It is a messy job sometimes, with syrup getting on the floor and the counters, but we keep a wet rag handy. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to serve a decent faluda and get through the day without any equipment breaking down. It is just a regular life in a busy part of town.
