Parivar Vidhyalay

Our school is inside the Parivar Building, which is part of the Ram Nagar Society on Ajwa Road. It’s right in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Vadodara. Because we are in a society building, it feels very much like a community project. A lot of the kids just walk over from their houses nearby. We don't have a massive gate or a huge security team. It’s a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else. The rooms are a bit small, and we have to be careful with how we use the space. We’ve got old wooden benches that have been around for a long time. They’re still strong, though. We don’t go in for all that marketing stuff you see other schools doing. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall. We just teach the kids their lessons and make sure they behave themselves. During the rainy season, the road outside gets a bit muddy, so the kids end up tracking a lot of dirt into the halls. We just mop it up and keep going. It’s a practical kind of place. Most of the parents work nearby and stop to chat when they drop off their kids. It’s just a local school for local people, and that’s how it’s always been since we started here in Ram Nagar. We’re just a bunch of people trying to help the kids learn and get through their exams.
