Being over here by the Race Course is interesting because you hear the horses sometimes if it’s quiet enough. Our workshop is on Trong Road, right near Lions Hall. It’s a bit of a dusty place, mostly because of all the metal work and the machines running. We’ve got B 18 as our unit. It’s not the kind of place where you come for a fancy meeting. There’s usually some grease on the floor and a lot of scrap metal piled up in the corners. We spend the whole day fixing things or cutting parts to size. It’s loud, and there’s always a fan blowing somewhere to keep the heat down. Most of our customers have been coming here for years, they just drop off their stuff and tell us when they need it back. I spend a lot of my time looking for specific wrenches or checking the inventory in the back. The building itself is old, with those heavy metal doors that are a pain to slide open in the morning. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk with a lot of papers and some old coffee mugs. It’s honest work, and we stay busy from morning till the sun goes down. The Race Course Arms area has its own feel, kind of industrial but right in the middle of everything else. We just focus on the machines and getting the engineering work done right.
