Our regional office is tucked away at number 19 in the R.C. Patel Industrial Estate in Akota. It is a bit of a tight squeeze getting into the estate sometimes, especially when the delivery vans are blocking the narrow lanes. The office is a busy little place. We have drawings spread out over almost every flat surface, and there is always a kettle on for coffee. Being in Akota is convenient for us because it is central, though the parking is always a bit of a puzzle. We handle a lot of the engineering coordination from this room. It is not a sterile environment; there are samples of metal parts on the shelves right next to the office supplies. We have been in this spot for several years and the walls are covered with old calendars and notes we have scribbled over time. The staff is small, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the door to checking technical specs. We do not really go for the whole corporate look. Our chairs do not match and the filing cabinets are a bit dented, but it is a comfortable place to work. We spend our days making sure the projects are moving along and that the paperwork is in order. It is honest, steady work and we like the people we deal with. There is no big mystery to how we run things; we just show up and work.
