Micro-Mech Engineers

Micro-Mech Engineers is situated at 340/8/3 in the Makarpura GIDC estate. It’s right on the Kempegowda Main Road, so it’s easy to find if you’re driving through the industrial zone. The whole area is full of workshops and small factories, so there is a constant hum of machinery and the sound of metal being moved around by the workers. Our building is a simple one, with a heavy metal door and high ceilings to keep the heat from becoming too much during the day. The floor is usually covered in a bit of oil or metal shavings, which is just the reality of the kind of work we do here. It’s not a place for clean shoes or white shirts. We have a small office area tucked in the corner where we handle the billing and the drawings, but most of the action happens out on the main floor. The light comes in through some high windows, and we have big industrial fans to keep the air moving as we work. Being in the GIDC estate means we are surrounded by other people doing similar things, so there is always a sense of being part of a larger machine. We get our tea from a local cart that comes by twice a day, and that’s when we usually take a few minutes to rest and talk. It’s a tough, noisy environment, but it’s where we feel at home. We get the work done and then head out when the day is over.
