Manshukhlal Laljibhai & Sons is tucked away in the Mandvi area on Shiv Nagar Main Road. If you are looking for us, we are right by Narsinhji Pole. It’s a busy spot, especially in the afternoons when the traffic picks up. We are quite close to Siddeshwari Chasmaghar, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find our door for the first time. The shop has been in the family for a long time, and you can kind of tell by the way the shelves look and how things are organized. It isn't a modern showroom or anything like that. We have stuff stacked in corners and we know where everything is, even if it looks a bit messy to someone else. The front door stays open most of the day to let in a bit of a breeze, though it mostly just lets in the noise from Shiv Nagar Main Road. We spend a lot of our time talking to the neighbors or people walking by on their way to the market. It’s a local way of doing things. We don’t really use fancy computers for everything; a lot of our notes are still on paper. Being near the pole means we see all the local festivals and processions right from our step. It gets crowded and loud, but that is just how life is here. We just keep the shop running like it always has been without any fuss.
