Over at Vraj Engineering, we spend most of our time at Plot No. 746-5a in the Gidc Ind. Estate. It’s a busy place with a lot of noise coming from the neighbors. We do a lot of metal work and fixing parts that people bring in. My hands are usually covered in grease by noon, and that's fine with me. We have a few lathes and some old machines that still run better than the new stuff. It’s just a small team of us. We drink a lot of tea while we look at drawings and figure out how to make things fit. Sometimes a piece of metal doesn't want to cooperate, and we have to start over. It’s part of the job. The shop floor is a bit crowded because we have a lot of scrap we might need later. You can find us here early in the morning when it's still cool. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the work is done with our hands and some heavy tools. People know where to find us if they need something welded or machined properly. We don’t have a sign that lights up or anything, just the work we do. It’s a decent way to make a living and we like being part of the estate here. We just keep our heads down and get the parts done on time.
