Vital Electrocomp is based out of the G.I.D.C. Estate on Erda Road, specifically at No. 830/2. It’s a typical industrial area, so there are trucks moving in and out all day and the sound of factories nearby is pretty much constant. Our spot is right in the middle of it all. We deal with electronic components, so our work is a bit more quiet and detailed compared to some of the heavy machinery shops down the street. We’ve got benches set up with magnifying lamps and soldering stations where the staff spends most of their time. It’s a lot of small parts, and if you drop something on the floor, it’s usually gone for good in some crack. The Erda Road traffic can be a nightmare during the shift changes, so most of us try to get here early to beat the rush. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a sturdy concrete structure that keeps the rain off our equipment. We keep a lot of stock on the metal shelving units that line the walls, so it feels a bit cramped sometimes. We don't really have a reception area; if someone comes by, they usually just walk right into the work area and find whoever isn't busy. It’s a practical way of doing things, and it works for us. We’ve been in this G.I.D.C. patch for years now and know most of the other business owners nearby.
