At Plot No. 858-3-e in the GIDC Ind. Estate, we keep a pretty tight schedule. Even though the name says Hi-Tech, our workshop looks like any other busy place in the industrial zone. We have machines that run for hours, making small parts that most people would never even notice. The floor is concrete and cold in the mornings. We usually start the machines early so they can warm up properly. There are boxes stacked up in the corners waiting to be picked up. It isn't a place for suits or polished shoes. We wear work clothes that can get dirty. Most of our days are spent checking measurements and making sure the settings are correct. It takes a lot of patience to sit and watch a machine do its job, but you have to keep an eye on it. The GIDC is a noisy neighbor to have, with trucks constantly rumbling by and other shops grinding metal nearby. We’ve got a small fan that tries its best to move the air around when it gets stuffy inside. Delta Hi-Tech is basically just a few of us making things one piece at a time. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just show up at our plot, do what needs to be done, and go home when the sun goes down. It's just a regular job for us and we have been doing it this way for years.
