Virat Engineering is at Plot No. 307-3 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. Our shop isn't the biggest on the block, but we have managed to fit a lot of equipment inside. We mostly handle heavy-duty engineering tasks that involve a lot of grinding and welding. The sparks are usually flying in the back of the shed. We wear our safety gear, but the heat still gets to you during the summer months. There is a big workbench in the middle where most of the assembly happens. It is scarred with marks from years of use, which we think gives it character. We don't spend money on fancy signs or decor because the work speaks for itself. If someone needs a part machined, they just bring the old one in and we see what we can do. The Gidc can be a dusty place, so we have to wipe down the precision tools every single morning. We have a small radio that plays local stations, but it is mostly drowned out by the sound of the drills. Most of the guys working here have been doing this for years. We don't have a lot of meetings; we just talk about the jobs over a quick lunch. It is a simple setup for people who need real engineering work done without any of the extra fuss or complicated talk.
