Vikas Engineering

You can find Vikas Engineering at Plot No. 309-b-10, right near the Doctor Doctor landmark in the Gidc Ind. Estate. It’s a bit of a mouthful of an address, but once you’re in the estate, it’s not too hard to spot us. We do engineering work, which in our case means a lot of fabrication and fixing parts that have worn out. The shop floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is always the smell of welding in the air. We aren't a massive factory with robots; it’s mostly just us using manual machines and our own hands to get things built. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because a piece of steel is stubborn or a machine breaks down, but that’s just the nature of the work. We don't have a glossy brochure or a mission statement hanging in the front office. We just have a bunch of tools and a lot of experience in making things fit together. Most of the guys here have been doing this since they were young. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the local news while we work. It’s a simple life, but there is something satisfying about taking a raw piece of metal and turning it into something useful. We don't claim to be the biggest or the fanciest, we just show up every morning and do the best we can with the jobs we have.
