Vahanvati Engineering is located over at Plot No. 990-2-c inside the Gidc Ind. Estate. If you’ve ever walked through the estate, you know how these plots are all tucked away next to each other. Ours isn’t the biggest spot, but it fits everything we need. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the actual work to worry about that. It’s loud in there most of the time because of the equipment running, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. We’ve been here long enough that the local tea stall guy knows exactly when to bring the morning round. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door during monsoon season, but we just put a bucket down and keep going. We aren't trying to be some big corporate firm. It’s just us, working on whatever projects come through the door at Plot No. 990-2-c. Some days are longer than others, especially when a machine breaks down or we’re waiting on a delivery that’s stuck in traffic. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and someone will be there grease-stained and working. It’s a practical place for practical work. We just show up every morning and do what needs doing until the sun goes down. It's a living and we don't ask for much more than that.
