Unisource Engineers

At Unisource Engineers, we are based at Plot No. 446 in the GIDC. It is a straightforward setup without any of the extra bells and whistles you might find in a big city office. We have our machines lined up and enough space to move the raw materials in and out. Most of our day is spent looking at drawings and then trying to make the metal match what’s on the paper. It doesn't always go perfectly on the first try, so there is a lot of adjusting and measuring involved. We have a small crew and we all know each other’s families and stories. The workshop floor is where everything happens, and it’s usually quite hot and noisy. We don't bother with fancy uniforms, just clothes that can get dirty. If the floor is a bit cluttered, it’s only because we have been working hard. We like to keep things simple and honest. If a job is going to take a week, we tell the person it will take a week. We don't see the point in making promises we can't keep just to look good. The GIDC has its ups and downs, like the occasional power dip or the trucks blocking the road, but it’s where we belong. It is just a regular engineering shop where we try to do decent work for the people who need it. We’ve been here for a long time and plan to stay.
