You can find us at Unifab Engineers over at Plot No. 107 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. We’ve been operating from this plot for quite some time now. Our main thing is fabrication, so there’s a lot of welding torches and sparks flying around most afternoons. The smell of burnt metal is pretty much permanent in our clothes. We have a large open area where we lay out the frames we are building. It’s a bit messy, with offcuts of steel and welding rods scattered about, but we know where everything is. The roof leaks a little bit when it rains really hard, so we have to move the electrical equipment to the center of the floor sometimes. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If someone stops by, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and goes to see what they need. We work with a lot of local businesses who need custom frames or supports made. We don't use any fancy software for our planning, mostly just chalk marks on the floor or sketches in a notebook. It’s a straightforward way to work. We don't make big promises or use big words; we just take the metal and turn it into what the customer asked for. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every week. There is always something new to weld.
