Springlock Engineering Works

If you go down to the Gidc Ind. Estate and look for Plot No. 160, you will find us at Springlock Engineering Works. It is a solid, functional building where we spend most of our waking hours. The sound of metal hitting metal is the constant soundtrack to our days. We deal with a lot of heavy machinery and the floor is usually covered in a thin layer of metal shavings. We have to sweep up a few times a day just to keep things manageable for everyone. There is no air conditioning, so we keep the big shutters open and use a few floor fans to move the air around. It is a place where we do real physical labor. Our tools are well-worn and have been in our hands for many years. We don’t have a big staff, just a few local guys who know their way around a workshop. We spend our time bending, cutting, and shaping different pieces. It’s not a place for someone who is afraid of getting grease under their fingernails. We keep the paperwork in a small wooden desk near the back wall. Life at Plot 160 is mostly about meeting the next deadline and keeping the machines running smooth. We don’t go in for any of that corporate talk or fancy presentations. We just like to see the finished parts stacked up and ready to go out the door. It’s a simple, honest business we run here.
