Shakti Engineers is tucked into Plot No. 918/3 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. It’s a busy corner of the world. You can hear the machines running as soon as you turn the corner toward our shop. We do a lot of metalwork and repair stuff here. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil, but that’s part of the job. We don’t mind getting our hands dirty. Most of the guys have been working these machines for years. We stay pretty focused on whatever is on the workbench that day. The GIDC estate is always humming with activity, so there is a lot of energy around. Our plot, 918/3, isn’t huge, but we make the most of the space we have. There’s a specific smell of grease and hot metal that stays in the air. We don’t do much in the way of advertising because people usually find us by word of mouth or by seeing the work we do for the neighboring units. It can get cramped when a big project comes in, but we figure it out. We spend a lot of time double-checking measurements and making sure the parts fit right. It’s just honest shop work. We start early and stay until the job is done for the day. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a part, but we don't mind.
