About Satyam Engineering – Engineering in Vadodara
Satyam Engineering is tucked away at Plot No. 352-1-a in the GIDC Ind. Estate. It’s a basic engineering unit, nothing too complicated about it. We spend most of our hours dealing with bits of iron and steel. The machines run pretty much all day long, and there’s always a smell of cutting oil in the air. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around, just consistent. If someone drops off a drawing or a part, we get to it when the current job is done. The workshop can get a bit cluttered when we have several projects going at once, but we know where everything is. It’s just the way we work. Most of the guys have been here long enough that they don't need much instruction. We just get on with it. The gates open early and we close up once the sun goes down or the work is finished. It’s a bit dusty and loud because of the heavy equipment, but that is expected in this part of town. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk in the corner for the bills. We mostly just talk to customers face to face right there on the shop floor. It’s a simple life running an engineering shop. We just try to keep the machines humming. Sometimes we run into problems with an old lathe, but we fix it and keep going. That’s just life here.
