Prakash Engineering

Prakash Engineering operates out of Plot No. 246 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. It’s a straightforward machine shop where the sound of metal hitting metal is the soundtrack to our day. If you come by, you’ll likely see some of us hunched over a lathe or working on a welding bench. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time, and the floor shows the history of all the projects we’ve finished. There are oil stains and scratch marks everywhere, but that’s just how an engineering plot is supposed to look. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If the phone rings, whoever is closest to the desk picks it up, usually with greasy hands. We handle a lot of repair work and custom parts that people bring in from the other factories nearby. The air is always a bit thick with the smell of cutting fluid and burnt sparks. It’s a small team, so we all know each other’s families and what everyone is doing for the weekend. We don’t use big words or talk about vision statements. We just look at the blueprints, pick up the tools, and start cutting. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought, so we stay late under the dim lights to finish it up. That’s just life at Plot No. 246. We’re just local guys doing engineering work in the heart of the GIDC, trying to keep the machines running for everyone else.
