Pankaj Engineering Works

Pankaj Engineering Works has been operating out of Plot No. 865-8-h here in Gidc for quite some time now. It’s mostly just a small group of us who know our way around machines and metal parts. The workshop is usually pretty noisy, especially when we have a lot of grinding to do, but that is just the sound of work getting done. My father started this place, and I just kept it going after he decided to take it easy. We don't have a front office or any fancy chairs for people to sit in. Most of the time, we are just standing around the lathes or the workbench. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of the estate, which can be a real pain when we are on a deadline, but we usually find a way to make it work. People around here know us as the place to go if you need a quick fix or a specific metal piece made up without a lot of hassle. We take our tea breaks together at four o'clock, and that's when we catch up on what’s happening in the neighborhood. The plot gets very dusty when the wind picks up in the summer, and the road outside gets muddy during the monsoon, but we are used to it by now. It’s a decent place to work. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just one that does what it says it will.
