Microtech Engineers

Our shop is over at Plot No. 896-b-c in the Gidc Ind. Estate. It’s a busy spot with plenty of noise from the nearby units, but we like it that way. At Microtech Engineers, we spend most of our time at the workbenches or handling the lathes. It’s a practical space, not one of those shiny corporate offices you see in the city. We have some grease on our hands most of the time, and there’s always a pile of metal scraps in the corner waiting to be cleared out. The address is a bit specific with the b and c parts, so sometimes delivery drivers get a bit turned or stop at the wrong gate. We usually just step outside and wave them down. Most of us here have lived in this area for a long time. We know the neighbors and which tea stall has the best snacks in the afternoon. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just show up, do the engineering work that’s on the schedule, and try to keep everything running smooth. Some days the machines give us a bit of trouble, but that’s just part of the job when you’re working with old-school equipment and tight specs. We keep our tools organized as best as we can, though things usually get messy by noon. It's a simple operation, really. Just people doing a job they know how to do.
