Maharaja Cloth House

Maharaja Cloth House is our small business, and you can find us at Plot No. 988-1a in the GIDC Industrial Estate. It might seem a bit strange to some people to have a cloth house tucked away in an industrial area, but it works out well for us. We have rolls and rolls of different fabrics piled high on metal shelves that reach almost to the ceiling. The lights inside are a bit dim and flicker sometimes, but we know exactly where every piece of stock is located. We spend most of our time measuring out lengths and cutting cloth for whoever happens to walk in. Some days are quite slow and we just sit on the stools and talk about the news, while other days we can hardly keep up with the people coming in. We don't have a big fancy storefront with glass windows or mannequins. It’s much more like a warehouse where we just keep our inventory. We’ve been at this location for many years now and have watched the whole neighborhood change around us. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we'd rather spend our time and money on the business itself. We don't make big promises or use any complicated words. We just provide the fabric and handle the money. It's a simple, straightforward life for us. Most of our regulars are local tailors and shop owners from the surrounding areas.
