Kamal Engineers is located at Plot No. 988-5. It’s a standard spot in Gidc Ind. Estate. If you’ve ever walked through this part of the estate, you know it’s filled with the sound of metal and engines. Our unit is just one of many, but we’ve made ourselves at home here. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains that won't come out, no matter how much we scrub. We keep our supplies stacked against the far wall to save space. It’s tight sometimes when a lot of material arrives at once. The guys here are local, mostly from the nearby villages. They know their way around the machines. We don’t spend much time on meetings or big plans. Usually, we just talk about what needs fixing or moving while we’re having our morning tea. The gate stays open for ventilation because it gets stuffy inside. We see the same faces every day, the same courier guys and the same scrap collectors. It’s a predictable life, which is fine by us. When it rains, the roof makes a lot of noise, and we have to move some of the boxes so they don't get damp. It’s just how things are at our workshop. We stay until the sun goes down and then head home to do it all again tomorrow. It is what it is.
