K P Fabricated Engineers is down at Plot No. 290 3 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. If you walk into our shop, you’ll mostly hear the sound of welding and metal being cut. It’s a loud place. We do a lot of heavy fabrication work. We’ve got some big machines and a crane for moving the heavy steel beams around. It isn't a clean job; there’s always metal shavings on the floor and the smell of iron in the air. The team here knows their way around a blueprint, though we mostly just talk through the plans. We make frames, supports, and whatever else the local factories need. Sometimes we work late to finish a big project before the weekend. Gujarat has a lot of industry, so there is always someone needing something welded or fixed. We aren't a big corporation with fancy uniforms. We just wear our work clothes and get dirty. The Gidc estate is always busy with trucks coming and going, so getting materials in and out can be a bit of a headache. We have been at this location for a good while. Our door is usually open to let some air in because the welding makes it hot inside. It’s a simple operation, really. We just build things out of metal and hope the rain doesn't leak through the roof too much. The guys usually take a break under the tree outside when it gets too stuffy inside the shed.
