J L Extrusion Enggrs is based at Plot No. 801 in the Gidc Industrial Estate. It’s a busy place with a lot of noise and activity from the other units around us. Our building is a straightforward industrial space where we keep our machines and tools. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the equipment and get the jobs done. The estate is quite large, so we tell people to look for the 800 block to find us. We spend most of our time on the shop floor rather than in the office. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, as there’s always a bit of grease or metal shavings somewhere, but that’s how it is when you’re actually making things. We don’t have a marketing person or a fancy website. We just rely on the work we do every day. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a particular task, and other times it’s a bit quieter. We’ve got a small area where we keep our files and take our tea breaks. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours. Being in the Gidc estate means we are close to other engineers and shops, which is helpful when we need a specific part or some advice. We just keep our heads down and get the job finished with what we have here.
