Deluxe Electronics

Being at Plot No. 331k-a-a-1-4 in the GIDC Ind. Estate feels a bit different than the other shops around here. Most of our neighbors are doing heavy forging or chemical work, but at Deluxe Electronics, we are dealing with things you can barely see. The workbenches are lined with magnifying lamps and soldering stations. It’s much quieter in here than outside on the estate roads, though you can still hear the heavy trucks rumbling past and shaking the windows occasionally. The address is a bit of a mouthful, so we usually just tell people we are near the main gate of the sector. We spend hours hunched over circuit boards, and the air smells like melting solder and flux. It’s a lot of sitting still, which can be just as tiring as lifting heavy weights. We have a small kettle for making tea, and that’s usually where everyone gathers for ten minutes in the afternoon to stretch their legs. The walls are painted a dull grey, and we’ve got shelves stacked high with plastic bins full of resistors and capacitors. It’s not a glamorous setup, and the lighting could probably be better, but it’s where we do our thing. We don't have a big marketing team; it's just a few of us making sure the components are put together right so they actually work for the people who need them.
