We’ve been set up here at Aum Housing Society for a while now. It’s a quiet enough spot in Hari Nagar, just behind Mothers School. If you know the Gotri Road area in Vadodara, you probably pass by our building, B/135, without thinking much about it. Most days it’s just us doing our thing, handling the retail side of the business and keeping track of inventory. The neighbors are mostly families, so things stay pretty calm until the school bell rings. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It is just a practical office space where the work gets done. Sometimes the heat in Vadodara gets to be a bit much, but the trees around the society help keep the dust down. We’ve got a small team here. We spend a lot of time on the phones and staring at screens. It’s not a glamorous setup, but it works for what we need. People sometimes get lost looking for the society entrance because the signs aren't the best. We usually tell them to look for the school and then turn. It’s a lived-in kind of place. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood throughout the day. We’ve got our desks pushed together and the tea man comes by in the afternoons. It’s a simple routine. We’re just part of the local landscape here on Gotri Road. Nothing more, nothing less.
