C N Engineers And Systems Pvt. Ltd. operates out of Plot No. 169 in the GIDC Industrial Estate. Even though the name sounds a bit more formal, we are still the same group of people working out of the same shed. We added the "Systems" part as we started getting into more technical work, but the atmosphere hasn't changed much. We have a few more computers now and some more wiring running along the ceiling, but it’s still a workshop at heart. The office area is just a small corner partitioned off with some plywood where we handle the billing and the drawings. It gets pretty hot in there during the afternoon, but we have a couple of old fans that keep the air moving. Our staff is a mix of older guys who know the manual stuff and some younger people who are better with the digital side. We get along well because we all have the same goal of finishing the day's tasks. There is no dress code here; we just wear what’s comfortable and safe for the shop floor. People from the other plots in GIDC often stop by to chat or share a cup of tea. It feels like a small village sometimes, despite all the industry around us. We don't have a big mission or any corporate slogans. We just try to be reliable and do the work that comes our way at Plot 169.
