Arvind Engineering Works

You can find Arvind Engineering Works at Plot No. 298-1 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. We have been here for a long time. The shop is full of lathes, drill presses, and piles of scrap metal. It’s a place where things get fixed or made from scratch. We do a lot of repair work for the other businesses in the estate. If a part breaks on a machine, they bring it to us, and we see if we can turn a new one or weld the old one back together. It’s greasy work, and our hands are usually black by the end of the day. We don't have a big sign or a fancy lobby. People just walk right into the workshop. Sometimes it's hard to hear each other talk over the noise of the machines. We take our time with the measurements because if it's off by a millimeter, it won't fit. The roof gets hot in the afternoon sun, so we usually have a big exhaust fan running. It’s just me and a couple of skilled workers. We learned most of what we know just by doing it for years. We aren't interested in being some giant company. We just like solving mechanical problems and keeping the local factories running. Most days are long, but we like the work. It’s honest and keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Even when things get hectic, we make sure to have our chai breaks to keep our energy up.
