Annapurna Enterprise/Laxmi Engineering Works sits at Plot No. 307-12, right near the Telephone Exchange in the Gidc Ind. Estate. Having two names on the gate sometimes confuses people, but it is just how we have grown over time. Being close to the exchange makes it easy to give people directions. The workshop is usually full of activity from the moment we open up. We have a mix of engineering tools and general enterprise supplies scattered around. It is a bit of a shared space, so you might see someone welding in one corner while someone else is counting inventory in another. We have a few older lathes that still work better than the new ones we tried. The light inside isn't the best, so we use some big lamps when we are doing detail work. It gets very busy on Tuesdays for some reason, and the yard gets crowded with delivery trucks. We keep a small stove in the back to make tea for the staff and anyone who stops by to chat about a job. It is not a very formal place. You will usually find us in grease-stained shirts just trying to get through the list of tasks. We focus on being practical and solving whatever mechanical problems people bring to the door. It is a honest living and we like being part of this industrial community.
