If you come down to Plot No. 990, 2-d3 in the GIDC Ind. Estate, you’ll find Aashvi Engineers. It’s a bit of a maze back here, to be honest. We’ve got the usual setup for an engineering place—lathes, some drills, and plenty of grease everywhere. I started this because I liked fixing things and it just grew into a business over the years. My hands are usually stained with oil by ten in the morning, which my wife hates, but that’s the trade. We do a lot of small parts for other factories around the estate. Some days it’s just one long grind of cutting metal and checking measurements with the calipers. We don't have a big staff, just a few reliable guys who know their way around the machines. We keep the doors open mostly for the breeze since it gets stuffy inside. It’s loud, so we usually have to shout to hear each other over the grinding sounds. Sometimes we take a break and walk over to the tea stall around the corner. You get to know everyone in this section of the GIDC after a while. It’s a community of people just trying to get things done. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. People just know where we are at Plot 990. We just keep our heads down and finish the batches as they come in. It is hard work but it pays the bills.
