Mahasagar Saree Centre

You can find us up on the first floor of the Padmavati Shopping Centre in Lamba. We have the units from F 54 through 59, so it is a decent amount of space for Mahasagar Saree Centre to keep its stock. Vadodara has a lot of shops, but we like being here in this particular shopping center. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs every day, but once you are up here, it is a little bit quieter than the street level down below. We spend our days unfolding things and then folding them back up again. That is just the nature of what we do with the sarees. It is a lot of routine. We open up, clean the glass counters, and get ready for whoever walks in through the door. We do not do much advertising or anything like that. People mostly find us because they are already in the building or maybe someone told them where we are. The lighting is not always the best in these older shopping centers, but we have got enough lamps to see the colors clearly. It feels like a small community with the other shop owners on the first floor. We share the daily news and sometimes help each other out with small things like change or moving a heavy box. It is not a glamorous job, but it is our job. We take care of the stock and make sure the shelves are never empty.
