About Magnetic Engineering – Engineering in Vadodara
We're out in Por at 155-A/1-A. It’s a bit of a drive out here, but it works for what we do. Engineering stuff takes up a lot of space and makes a bit of noise, so being in this spot is fine. The building is pretty plain. We spend the day working with different materials and machines. It’s mostly hands-on work. The floors get dusty and there’s always a smell of metal or oil around. We’ve been at this for some time now. Most of the people who come here are looking for specific parts or help with a project. We don’t have a big sign or anything. It’s just the workshop and us. Usually, we have the radio on in the background while we work. The area around Por is mostly industrial, so we fit right in. There’s a lot of heavy lifting involved. We have to keep track of a lot of drawings and measurements. Sometimes things don’t go perfectly the first time and we have to start over. That’s the nature of the job. We grab lunch nearby when we can. It’s a quiet life if you don’t count the machines. We just focus on getting the work done right and heading home when the sun goes down. The metal scraps tend to pile up in the corner until we have time to clear them out on Saturdays. It is just the way we like to run things here. There is always a lot of grease and hard work involved.
