M M Padrawala

M M Padrawala is located right on Lakshmi Temple Road in Fatepura, specifically over in the 8th Block. It’s a lively neighborhood and there is always something going on outside near the temple. Our shop is pretty traditional. We’ve got shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes we have to use a rickety old ladder to get things down for people. It’s not the most modern setup, but it’s what we have and it works. We know most of the neighbors by name since they’ve been coming here for years to pick up what they need. We spend a lot of time just chatting with people who stop by. The floor is made of old stone and it’s seen a lot of foot traffic over the years. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customers to arrive after their morning prayers. Sometimes it gets crowded in the narrow aisles, and we have to help people navigate around the boxes of new stock. There’s a cat that hangs around the entrance most days, waiting for a scrap or just a bit of shade under the awning. The inventory changes depending on what we can get in, so some days we have more than others. We don't really do big sales or anything. People just know we are here on the corner. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just managing the shop for the community.
